Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best well-known for her character of detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her role on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. As the sole daughter to a senior executive of the United Auto Workers and a homemaker Delaney grew up with her four brothers. She envisioned becoming a court reporter in her early years, but began modeling at high school, eventually earning commercials following her move from New York. In 1981, she appeared as a naive teen in All My Children. Delaney is a well-known actress, appearing involved in numerous television dramas, and TV films. Her career as a professional has been better than her personal life. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcoholism. She was divorced in 2005 and was denied custody of the sole child that she had.
